Erect, 15-50 cm tall, branched or simple, annual herb. Leaves pinnately trifoliate; petiole ca. 20 mm, pubescent; lateral leaflets subsessile ( petiolule 1 mm long), terminal on 2-4 mm long petiolule; leaflet blade 2-3 cm long, 0.5-1.5 cm broad, obovate, wedge-shaped, dentate in upper half, lower half entire, veins prominent, parallel, running out into small teeth, apex rounded or truncate, mucronate, upper surface glabrous, lower pubescent, hairs mainly on midvein; stipules ca. 1 cm long, united to the base of petiole, lanceolate, acuminate, pilose. Flowers bisexual, zygomorphic, 5-merous, perigynous, yellowish- white or pale yellow, 1 or 2, axillary, ca. 1.4 cm long. Bracts 5-6 mm x 2 mm, oblong-lanceolate, acuminate, margin ciliate. Pedicel ca. 2 mm long. Calyx 7-8 mm long; tube ca. 4 mm long, teeth nearly as long as tube, narrow lanceolate, villous. Corolla papilionaceous, yellowish-white or pale yellow, sometimes tinged with lilac; vexillum ca. 12 mm x 7 mm, obovate or oblong, emarginate, base narrow triangular, blue spots at back; wings ca. 10 mm x 3 mm, oblong, obtuse, clawed, claw ca. 4 mm long, base auriculate, auricles incurved; keel 6 mm long, obtuse. Stamens 10, diadelphous (9+1), vexillary stamen quite free, filament apices swollen, bent downwards. Ovary ca. 3 mm long, upper half villous, unilocular, many-ovuled, placentation marginal; style ca. 1.5 mm long, glabrous, slightly incurved; stigma small, simple. Legumes 7-10 cm x 4-5 mm, conical, straight or slightly curved, apical beak 2-3 cm long, glabrescent, veins longitudinally reticulate. Seeds 10-20, brown, oblong-ovoid, 2-5 mm x 2-3 mm.
